Here they are:
- She's 14, Going on 140 Characters : a great insight on Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann's eldest daughter. She's famous for being smart and witty and having a good head on her shoulders (yea famous parents too) - her social networking savvy and writing on one of my favorite sites Hello Giggles doesn't hurt too. Read this and realize that a 14 year old may have her life in order more than you do.
- Turn off the Phone (and the Tension) : a very relatable piece by Jenna Wortham about how us folks addicted to our phones need to CTFO and put it down for awhile. The term "JOMO" or "Joy of Missing Out" is also introduced and I am now determined to use it in my conversations this week.
- The Acqui-hire Scourge: Whatever Happened to Failure in Silicon Valley? : written by the somewhat controversial (I love her writing) blogger over at Pando Daily Sarah Lacy. Lacy opens up about the current startup market and the "acqui-hire" or the fact that so many startups don't know what failure is anymore. It focuses on how some startups and their investors can turn their company actually "failing" into a success by being bought by one of the big guys (the Facebook, the Google, the Yahoo...etc...) - if you work in this industry or somehow relate to it--definitely read this. I've seen this a lot and I've actually thought in my head "so, this is not a business. This is a feature built for YouTube." ---oh and you got a few million bucks in the bank. OK.
Oh and I took my first SoulCycle class tonight. Officially obsessed and understanding the cult-like phenomenon that has taken over my friends and their Instagram feeds.
Happy Sunday.
