How to Get Started with Google +: Suggestions for Circle Names

How awesome is that blog post title huh? That says SEO ALL OVER IT.

I'm still trying to figure out Google +. I mean it only came out YESTERDAY but dammit I need to know NOW how this thing is going to change my internetz.

One thing they have is this "Circles" feature. AKA Twitter lists. AKA Facebook Lists. AKA groups. OK, it's been done before but the cool interface in making a Circle is pretty slick.

Not sure what kind of Circles to make? NO PROBLEMO. A list to get you started. Please add other Circle names to the comments and help new Google + users out.

crab boil

i'm all for trying new things. one thing about living in NYC that I try not to take advantage of is that there literally is something new happening or something new to do EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. Why do people not live here?

Anyway, when Chantelle invited me to join in on a crab boil, I had to say yes. I've never done it before and I love seafood and her friends from Yelp, so yes, sign me up.

The deal: $40 a person for 3 pots of crabs. Not including booze (we had some) the deal isn't too bad. You sit at a table (try and grab an outside spot if you can because it's so nice) and if your group is small, you'll probably share the table with another party. we got lucky and had some good neighbors. they come out and explain the way to crack open the crab (or as Chantelle says: push on the crab penis and break it open) and go after the meat and break it off. the food was AMAZING. yummy crabs, Old Bay seasoning all over your hands and crab juice flying everywhere from the mallets breaking the legs. You end the meal with a strawberry rhubarb dessert--YUM and close out the night. Highly recommend going if you can.

My Internet Week Panel: Can 'Viral' Be Bought?

I organized a panel for Internet Week this year titled "Can 'Viral' Be Bought?" . We talk about ways that people have made content go viral for free, the part paid media can or should play, and how a mix of both can nudge something or someone from oblivion to fame. To be honest, I was really nervous before doing this (everyone's said it didn't come off that way so THANK YOU) - but I encourage you to organize conversations around topics that need to be discussed. It's fun and you get to meet a ton of new people.

Thanks to my panelists:

Jeff Greenspan, Creative Director at BBDO
Lauren Leto, Co-Founder TFLN and CEO, Bnter
