The Evolution of my Download

I sat on my couch Saturday night with a glass of wine waiting for my friend to come over. I didn't feel like watching TV, so I turned on the Music Channel of "Top Hits" provided by the lovely people at Time Warner Cable.

For about six songs in a row, I held up my iPhone with the Shazam app compiling a list of songs to download once I turned on my laptop. I've used Shazam on the street when I heard a car blasting a Taylor Swift song, so using it in my own home wasn't that unusual.

An avid fan of last.fm and The Hype Machine, I usually don't hear the latest "hits" until I venture home to Long Island and drive around in the car. If by chance I see it on a TV show (ahem Glee) or a movie trailer (like this one), that's where I get my music.

Take this perfect example.
  1. Palm Pixie Commercial On TV
  2. Shazam the Song on my iPhone-Passion Pit, Sleepyhead
  3. Download on Laptop
  4. Post to my Tumblr
  5. Listen on Commute to Work
  6. Dance
