You ever just take a minute and look around and realize how lucky you are for knowing some people? Getting to know people is SO important, especially with my job. Half of what I have to do is meet people and work on relationships. But sometimes, sitting in a room with friend and really thinking about what each person does can be an interesting task. Lately, it's been a feeling of "Wow--I hang out with some really smart people."
And this post is not set as a place to be bragging about it...it's just something I've noticed and am proud to say. I like surrounding myself with people who are smart and driven.
Mashable yesterday ran a GREAT post covering the ins and outs of the New York Social Media Hub. I was honored to be mentioned in this as part of the "Places of Interest" along with popular hangout Shake Shack and New Work City-coworking space.
But, what was really great (and what a lot of my friends noticed) was that many of the people and companies listed are people I'm lucky enough to see on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Being around people who are doing AMAZING things, showing how hungry they are to succeed and make something of themselves and this industry.
So, a special shout to those people I am lucky enough to grab beers and hang out with, converse on a regular basis (even if it is over GChat) and go to for valuable advice and insight.
